Beginning on August 27, 1984, the Lockheed Martin operations facility has serviced thousands of aircraft, such as the C-130, P-3, KC-10, and C-9. Currently, Lockheed Martin’s Greenville operations facility is where is the F-16 Fighting Falcon production line is based. The facility performs nose-to-tail aircraft modification, maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for both military and civil aircraft, including the F-16.

The Lockheed Martin operations facility has one of the most highly skilled workforces in the area. Some of the Lockheed Martin workforce is comprised of aviation technicians, engineers, and program managers. When the operations facility was first opened in 1984, there were only twelve employees overseen by the facility’s first president, Charlie Human. The first project taken on at the facility was a

P-3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft. The initial operation occupied only two hangars and one office building. Currently, the operations facility covers around 276 acres and 16 aircraft hangars. The workforce currently exceeds seven hundred people. For more than five decades, Lockheed Martin has called Greenville home. Lockheed Martin’s main mission today is keeping F-16 fighter jets flying for America’s allies around the world.
