- Follow the agenda and do not deviate. Any items that come up can be discussed at the end of the meeting or put on the agenda for the next board meeting.
- Put time limits on all items. Putting time limits on discussion items prevents indecision and improves effectiveness of the overall meeting.
- Topics should be introduced by a motion and a second to ensure the topic has merit. If an item is of a nature that motions are not warranted, it may not be worthy of being discussed at the board meeting.
- Do not include items on the agenda that do not require action. Put items of this nature in an email to the entire Board.
